BAGGER HAYNES WINS THE FIRST MATCH
Daz Haynes started the 2023 season in fine form by taking the honours at a disappointing Furnace Mill Fishery on the Furnace Pool. The showery weather did not help matters but fishing from Peg 13 Daz caught consistently throughout the match to put over 30 poundS onto the scales.
Steve Cox collected the SECOND-PLACE prize fishing from peg 30. Steve like most found the going hard until a change of bait made the difference and he finished with 23 pound 10 ounces at the final whistle which included a 7 - 10 lump.
Sophie Crumpton made the most of her corner peg 5 catching well early on in the match and finished with a weight of 21 pound 9 ounces which was enough for her to take the third placed envelope.
New member Bill Gribon finished in fourth place with a level 21 POUNDS,
Simon Spence came fifth with 13 POUNDS 6 ounces and Ian Hughes made up the top six with 13 POUNDS.
The three section winners WERE Andy Taylor, Simon Spence, and Bill Gribon. I hope the two new members enjoyed their day with us, I think Bill did collecting money and I’m sure Neil Ward will soon be collecting.
Many thanks as usual to our WEIGHING-IN team who had to overcome some AWFUL weather
