EXCELLENT WIN FOR FRANK AT THORPE FISHERIES
Frank Wallace certainly enjoyed his day at Thorpe Fisheries when he pushed the scales around to 60 pound 12 ounces to win by a country mile on the Brook Meadow pool. Fishing from peg 2 Frank used the feeder throughout the contest placing it by the aerator in front of him to land an all Carp catch. Frank will collect the Birmingham Banter Trophy later on in the year at the presentation evening.
Jeff Turner is having a good start to the 2021 season and he continued the good form by collecting second place with just under 18 pound from peg 7. Jeff caught some nice looking carp on the feeder and used the pole midmatch.
Another member having plenty of success early season is Ron Evans who put together a nice bag of fish from peg 20 which secured the third place prize. Ron was just two ounces short of second place but he has now won four divisional wins on the trot. Paul Connell had a fine end to the match from peg 4 on the feeder. He sat for long time without a bite but then landed some nice Carp which took the scales to 17 pound 1 ounce at the weight in. Dave Skinner and Ian Hughes took the section prizes, Like Paul in fourth place Dave sat for a long while without success but managed to find the fish later on to record 16 pound 2 ounces. Ian Hughes from peg 8 put a level 15 pound in the net for his envelope.
