GUEST NICK HULL WINS MATCH.
UNFORTUNATELY MOST OF THE WINNERS LEFT BEFORE THE PHOTO WAS TAKEN
IT WAS A SHAME THAT THE CARP BEGAN TO SPAWN OVERNIGHT ON THE HORSESHOE LAKE WHICH PROVED DIFFICULT WITH EIGHT MEMBERS FAILING TO TROUBLE THE SCALES
BUT FOR GUEST ON THE DAY NICK HULL, WHO ARRIVED AT THE VENUE AFTER THE MATCH STARTED , DID NOT LET THAT DISTRACT HIM GOING ON TO WIN THE CONTEST AT ALVECHURCH. WITH AN ALL CARP BAG FOR 37 POUNDS 5 OUNCES. NICK FOUND HIS FISH FISHING IN THE MARGINS WITH MAGGOTS.
UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO CLUB RULES NICK WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COLLECT THE LEE WELLARD MEMORIAL TROPHY THAT HONOUR WILL GO TO SECOND PLACED RON EVANS.
RON FISHING FROM PEG 19 USED THE POLE THROUGHOUT AT VARIOUS DISTANCES MIXING BETWEEN MAGGOT AND WORM FOR A NICE LOOKING NET OF CARP. ALONG WITH HIS TROPHY RON PICKED UP THE RUNNERS UP PRIZE ENVELOPE.
FRANK WALLACE WITH 32 POUND 14 OUNCES ENDED IN THIRD SPOT WHICH INCLUDED A CRACKING BARBLE ON CORN AT TOP TWO AND TWO DISTANCE. COLIN PARSONAGE COLLECTED THE FOUR PLACED PRIZE WITH 16 POUND 10 OUNCES FROM PEG 28 NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE LAKE.
COLIN STRUGGLED EARLY ON IN THE MATCH BUT FOUND SOME BIG CARP LATER ON IN THE MARGINS WHICH SHOT HIM UP THE LEADER BOARD.
STEVE COX AND SIMON SPENCE TOOK THE SECTIONS FOR THEIR EFFORTS ON A DIFFICULT DAY.
STEVE FROM PEG 20 USED CORN AND MAGGOTS FOR HIS NEARLY 13 POUNDS. SIMON WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LAKE ON PEG 13 AND HAD A GOOD LAST HALF AN HOUR TO PUSH HIS WEIGHT ON THE SCALES TO 12 POUNDS 13 OUNCES.
LIKE I SAID EARLIER IT WAS A SHAME THAT THE SPAWNING SPOILT THE DAY BUT IT’S A THING WE CANNOT CONTROL
