DAVE TAKES THE HONOURS AT WILLOW MARSH
Dave (Crocker) Crosby overcame his recent knee problems by taking the opening day honours.
Dave switched between the pole and feeder throughout the five hour match and put together a modest 23LB 2OZ which gave him a five pound advantage over second placed Andy Taylor.
Andy was pegged on the opposite side of the pool to the Dave and like most struggled to find any fish early on, but a change to the waggler at distance proved to be the game changer. Andy put two decent Carp on the scales for 18LB.
Mary Turner just edged out her other half Jeff for third place with just two ounces the difference. Mary FISHING peg 34 on the far side of the pool used the feeder to good effect putting an all carp net on the scales for 15LB 2OZ. Hubby Jeff used the same tactics from peg 10 just by the entrance to the pool, he managed to land two carp for 15lb Exactly.
Jeff had all the members in laughter with his outcry that he had caught his first fish at the venue.
Kieran Smith and Juan Periera collected the section’s prize money both landing one fish apiece. Kieran put a 10lb 8oz lump in the net which he caught in the last 5 minutes of the finish with Juan fish weighing in at 9lb 14oz.
The result of the day came in peg 39 where Alan Whitmore who always seems to finish last managed to put double figures on to the scales and ended up with 10lb 1oz. his weight was helped with a nice 9lb 8oz carp which seemed to take Alan half of the match to land.
WELL DONE THE LANGLEY WIZARD.
