Kieran bounces back after a disappointing

Kieran Smith soon responded to the disappointing result at Alvechurch by winning on the Buddleia Pool at Astwood with two pound to spare. I’m sure Kieran will feel the pain in the morning as like last year at this venue he used the long pole to find the fish under the overhanging trees on the island in front of him to weigh in 53lb2oz.
Juan Periera used a different tactic on the opposite side of the pool to the Kieran using
the feeder to the side of the island and landed a few lumps in his 51lb02oz catch.
Another member to use the feeder all the through the match was Dave Skinner who fishing from end peg 21 landed an all Carp bag for 46lb. Dave was like many who fished the match hooked and lost plenty of fish headed straight to the reeds once caught.
After a shocking start to the season it was nice to see Jeff Turner back to something like his best. Jeff pegged on the far side of the pool picked up fourth spot with a mixed bag for 27lb4oz.
Steve Cox took fifth from peg 11 with a straight 26lb pound followed by Brian Tovey who put 24lb15oz on the scales to secure sixth place.
