Dave Robinson won a disappointing match at Astwood fishery with over 10 pound to spare. Dave pegged in the corner of the Buddleia Lake showed all of his experience to put together a decent bag of fish while others around him where struggling. Most of his 30-1 catch came in the second half of the contest when he changed to meat in the margins and found some good Carp.
Kieran Smith fished from peg 4 on the right hand side of the lake from the entrance and used the long pole to the island in front of him and managed to put 19-10 on the scales which was enough to give him second place' but I think he might have a sore back in the morning holding a 18meter pole for almost the five hours fished.
It was nice to see our regular guest Mary Turner finish in the top three. Mary used the feeder throughout from peg 20 and finished with a level 10 pound. I think this was just reward for Mary who made up the numbers in our recent Doubles and Teams Of Three events.
It was also nice to see John King in the frame after some recent disappointments. John was on the far side of the Lake and put 9-8 in the net to collect the Fourth prize.
Peter Bullock caught a late Carp which proved enough to see him in Fifth place closely followed by Sean Durrant who struggled early but found a few later to finish sixth.
