ROB COX IS ON THE MOVE WINNING AT WASSELL GROVE
With the fish starting to spawn again at Wassell Grove it proved to be an hard match at the Hagley venue. One member who shone on the day was the improving Rob Cox who after a shocking start to the season by his own standards won the day with just over 17 pounds. Rob also gave us all a 20 minute start after going home to get his pain killing tablets after his recent operation. Rob used meat at 16 metres to land the Carp which wins him the Birmingham Banter Trophy at the end of the season. Lloyd Valentine proved last weeks win at Meadowlands was no fluke by taking the second placed prize with 16-4 from peg 34. Lloyd used the feeder and pole to put a mixed net onto the scales. Guest angler John Walker made the most of peg 16 right on the edge of one of the many islands on the match lake. John used the feeder mainly during the five hour match to send the scales around to 14-02 with most of the catch being stockies. Sean Durrant waited patiently for the big fish to turn up on peg 32, after catching lots of small silvers early on in the match his patience paid off landing a nice Nine pound lump to give him the Fourth place envelope. With 26 anglers taking part we had three section winners this week, Bob Hinks with the help of a late Carp collected coin from peg 4. Michael Farrell with a level 12 pound won section Two from peg 20, Making up the trio was Juan Periera who managed 10-04 from peg 40.
