IAN WINS BY NARROW MARGIN

Ian Hughes won yet another disappointing match this season on the High Meadow Pool at Moorlands Farm by just one ounce. It seems everywhere we go this season we are struggling for big weights so lets hope our next contest at Elmbridge can come up with the goods. Fishing from peg 43 near the entrance Ian caught small F1’s consistently throughout the five hour match to put 20 pound 15 ounces onto the scales at the final whistle.
Ian then had to wait whilst next peg Andy Taylor weighed in one ounce short which meant Ian would collect the Cox’s Memorial Trophy plus the winners prize money. Unlucky Andy from peg 44 fished a similar match to Ian and caught the same stamp of F1’s and a few Silvers for his 20 pound 14 ounce and of cause the runners-up prize.
Last years winner at the same venue Dave Skinner came in third spot with a level 19 pound using his trusted feeder method at half distance from peg 42.
Paul Hotchkiss had his best result of the season to date fishing from peg 26 at the far end of the pool. All Paul had to show for the first four hours was a small silver but he managed to land five F1’s in the last hour for a finishing weight of 13 pound 6 ounces. The two sections pay outs went to Michael Farrell and Rob Cox. Faz had a mixed bag from peg 24 up in the far corner of the pool for a level 10 pound. Rob used the pole throughout at various distances for his 9 pound 15 ounce from peg 36
