The old man wins at willow marsh
JOHN MALE WON A DISAPPOINTING MATCH AT WILLOW MARSH WITH 10 DRY NETS AND FOUR WEIGHING IN ONLY OUNCES.
DON’T THINK IT WAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE FISHERY IT WAS THE TIME OF YEAR PLUS IT WENT COLDER OVERNIGHT AND WE HAD A COLD WIND THROUGHOUT THE MATCH.
TAKE NOTHING AWAY FROM THE WINNER THE OLD MAN HIMSELF JOHN MALE WHO MANAGED TO LAND TWO CRACKING CARP FOR A WEIGHT OF 19 POUNDS. JOHN FISHED THE POLE AT VARIOUS LENGTHS WITH MAGGOTS AND ONE OF THE CARP WAS A NICE 10LB 14OZ LUMP. JOHN WILL COLLECT THE PAT AND LOUISE MEMORIAL TROPHY LATER IN THE YEAR.
MICHAEL FARRELL STARTED THE 2021 SEASON BY COLLECTING THE SECOND PLACE ENVELOPE WITH JUST ONE FISH WHICH TOOK THE SCALES AROUND TO 13LB 14OZS. FAZ MIXED HIS APPROACH UP WITH THE WAGGLER AND POLE AND HE TOOK THE NICE LOOKING CARP AT 11MTS ON THE POLE USING PELLET.
THIRD PLACED JEFF TURNER ALSO RELIED ON ONE FISH TO TAKE THE COIN FOR THIRD PLACE. JEFF LANDED HIS MONSTER USING THE FEEDER WHICH WEIGH IN AT 13LB 8OUNCES. JEFF CAN BE WELL PLEASED WITH HIS FIRST RESULT IN THE FIRST DIVISION. IAN RENNIE TOOK FOURTH PLACE WITH MINUTES TO GO BEFORE END OF THE FIVE HOUR MATCH HE MANAGED TO HOOK INTO A 11 POUND CARP ON HIS TRUSTED FEEDER APPROACH. IAN SURPRISED ALL MID-MATCH WHEN HE STARTED USING THE POLE.
DAVE SKINNER AND BRIAN TOVEY TOOK THE SECTIONS MONEY WITH BOTH LANDING ONE CARP EACH. DAVE FROM PEG 17 WEIGHED IN 9LB 14OZ JUST A COUPLE OUNCES AHEAD OF BRIAN WHO FISHED FROM PEG 28.
IT WAS SO GOOD SEEING BRIAN BACK OUT ON THE BANK WITH US, WE HAVE MISSED YOU MR TOVEY.
IT WAS ALSO GOOD TO SEE OUR FOUR NEW MEMBERS FOR THE 2021 SEASON AT WILLOW MARSH. I KNOW IT’S ALWAYS DIFFICULT JOINING A NEW CLUB BUT I’M SURE AFTER A COUPLE OF MATCHES YOU WILL FEEL OF OUR SET UP.
