NEW MEMBER LLOYD VALLENTINE WINS AT
MEADOWLANDS
Lloyd Valentine certainly enjoyed his first match since joining Exel Angling when winning at a canter on the Warren Pool at Meadowlands. Lloyd caught most of his mainly Carp net on the feeder which was some 13 pound ahead of second place and he will collect the Crosby Cup at the Presentation later in the year. Sean Durrant collected the second place envelope with a lovely mixed bag of Carp and Silvers from peg 18. Sean used the tip and Pole throughout the Five hour match and landed a nice looking Nine pound Carp. Juan Periera continued his consistent start to the 2019 season putting just over Forty pound onto the scales from peg 16. Like most of the members Juan suffered lot’s of missed fish due to the size of the lumps but his finishing weight was enough for third place. In the next peg to Juan, Rob Cox gained his best finish of the season to-date putting 35-04 onto the scales for fourth place. It was nice to see Rob back with us after his recent operation, could this be the start of his usual mid-season run of results that pushes him up the table. Three section prizes at this match went to Frank Wallace, Michael Farrell, and Colin Parsonage, it turned out to be a good day for Colin who landed the biggest fish of the season from peg 10 a huge 14 pound 9 ounce lump. Colin must have been sweating at the weigh in with another two big fish still to be put onto the scales. Dave Skinner (peg 3) and Michael Farrell (peg 31) must be a little upset there fish weighed exactly the same 14 pound 8 ounces, just an ounce short. Well done to all three of you.
