ANDY & SEAN AT THE DOUBLE ON LOWER PARK FISHERY WITH JUST TWO POINTS TO SPARE
Andy Taylor and Sean Durrant collected the first silverware of the 2019 season when they lifted the doubles competition on a very windy Lower Park Fishery. The event was split over two pools Pebble and Highland with a section on each. Sean put in a masterful display on Pebble to win the section, with many struggling on the pool Sean put a mixed bag on the scales for 19-08 of which many where caught up in the water. Andy collected two points on the Highland Pool section weighing in 19-04 the majority of the fish being small F1’s. Running the winners close where the pairing of Peter Bullock and Ian Rennie who just come up two points short. Ian used the feeder all through the match on Highland and he managed to put 18-12 on to the scales for a valuable 3 points. Pete Bullock fished from peg 5 on the pebble pool and like most struggled for bites early on but he found the fish late in the contest up in the water with maggot to register 16-14 which was enough for 2 points. Two pairings where level on 8 points in the chase for the third placed envelope and it was decided by overall weight with Paul Hotchkiss and Juan Periera just edging out Kieran Smith and Frank Wallace. Paul weighed in a level 12 pound from peg 11 on Pebble to secure 3 points whilst his partner Juan sent the scales around to 17-14 on Highland for 5 points. Both Kieran and Frank recorded 4 section points each, Kieran managed a mixed bag for 9-10 on the pebble pool with Frank landing 18 pound from peg 6 on the Highland Pool. The days top weight came from Michael Farrell who put together a super mixed bag of Silvers and F1’s for 29-10 and along with partner Dave Crosby finished fifth overall with Nine Points.
