aNDY RETAINS THE CHARITY SHIELD
ANDY TAYLOR BECAME THE FIRST CLUB MEMBER TO RETAIN OUR CHARITY SHIELD (THE LES RHODES MEMORIAL CHARITY SHIELD) AFTER WINNING AT SION FARM ON HENRY’S POOL. UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO THE POOR STATE OF HIS DRAWN PEG 23 WITH MEMBERS APPROVAL HE MOVED INTO THE SPARE PEG 14 AND TOOK FULL ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION BY PUTTING A LEVEL 31 POUND ONTO THE SCALES TO LIFT THE SHIELD FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW.
WE HAD A TIE FOR SECOND PLACE WITH BOTH PAUL CONNELL AND FRANK WALLACE SENDING THE SCALES AROUND TO 26 POUND 6 OUNCES.
IT WAS PAUL’S BEST FINISH SINCE JOINING THE CLUB AND THEY SAY EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY, THE LOOK ON PAUL’S FACE WHEN THE RESULTS WHERE ANNOUNCED WAS FIRST CLASS.
WELL DONE. FRANK’S FINE FORM THIS SEASON CONTINUED FROM PEG 10 WHEN HE NETTED A COUPLE OF NICE CARP PLUS SOME NICE SILVERS FOR A SHARE OF THE SECOND PLACE PRIZE MONEY.
PAUL HOTCHKISS COLLECTED THE FOURTH PLACE ENVELOPE WITH A NICE MIXED BAG OF CARP AND SILVERS FROM PEG 6 FOR A TOTAL WEIGHT OF 22 POUND 5 OUNCES.
THE TWO SECTION PRIZES WENT TO MARTYN HARRIS WITH 21 POUND 8 OUNCES AND RON EVANS FROM PEG 12 WITH 20 POUND 15 OUNCE
