Although fishing a number of matches last season as a guest, Michael Farrell began his full membership of the club with a victory on the Birmingham / Warwick Junction Canal.
Faz had the longest walk of us all to peg 1 and fished the single maggot on the hook throughout the match to put 4lb 8oz on the scales, is net included a superb three pound Chub. by winning this contest means He will collect the Pat & Louise Memorial Trophy at this years Presentation Evening.
Another new face collected the second placed prize that of Frank Wallace who fished as a guest. Frank put all small fish onto the scales for 3lb 8oz from peg 5 just past the road bridge.
Frank has been out of match fishing for a number of years and is looking to join our club in the future when the opportunity arises .
John Male finished third from peg 11 which was just by the entrance to the canal. John must have worked overtime on the amount of fish he weighed in which sent the scales to 3lb exactly.
We had joint fourth place winners in Peter Bullock and Juan Periera who both weighed in with 2lb. Peter fished from peg 9 whilst Juan was pegged next door in 10. The overall match was very close with both section prizes been shared. In the high numbers sector it was Kieran Smith and Colin Parsonage who shared the spoils with 1lb 15oz each and like the fourth place they where fishing next to each other in 20 and 21.
On the low numbers side Brian Tovey and Darren Bullock shared the money weighing in with 1lb 8oz each.
