fIRST OF THE SEASON TO Dave sKINNER
1st Dave skinner - 2nd Paul Hotchkiss - 3rd Frank Wallace - 4th Andy Tayor
Dave Skinner took the honours in the opening match of the 2020 season on the Silver Pool at Moorlands Farm. Fishing from peg 44 Dave used his trusted feeder approach to land fish consistently Throughout the five hour match finishing with a creditable 43 pound 6 ounces.
fishing from the next peg , Paul Hotchkiss used the pole at various lengths and depths to secure the second placed envelope with 36 pound 5 ounces. Just like Dave, Paul caught consistently to put a mixed bag onto the scales.
At the far end of the pool Frank Wallace finished in third place with 32 pound Eight ounces. Frank had a good start from peg 28 catching well from the inside but things dried up a little mid-match before landing some bonus fish near the end. The same could be said about fourth placed.
andy Taylor who had a very successful first hour put 28 pound 7 ounces catch on the scales. Ian Hughes finished in Fifth place with Steve Cox taking Sixth. Ian Hughes along with Ian Rennie collected the section prizes.
May I take this opportunity in thanking everyone who attended the match and for adhering to the social distancing rules. I think everyone felt safe at the fishery who also deserve a mention for all the information provided leading up to the match and of cause their weighing team who also did a very good job.
Well that’s the first match out of the way in what’s going to be a strange season for everyone connected with the Exel Angling Club.
PLEASE STAY SAFE EVERYONE.
