BOB HINKS WINS ON THE CUT .

Bob Hinks showed all of his experience on fishing canals by winning what can only be describe as a very difficult and disappointing match on the Cornerstone AC stretch of the Grand Union Canal.
Fishing from peg 2 Bob fished at various distances throughout the match and won with a modest weight of 1LB 9OZ. For all of his efforts Bob will collect the Crosby Cup at this years Presentation Evening.
The battle for the minor places behind the winner proved interesting with three members all weighing in exactly one pound. Peter Bullock who struggled early on found the fish at mid-distance late In the day and could of pushed the Winner with a little more time. A resurgent Alan Whitmore joined the Trio of second places from the end peg 19. Alan fishes canals a lot but his comments about the venue is not repeatable. The final member to join the envelope brigade was the most experienced canal angler we have in the club John Male. John drew peg 1 out of the hat and caught bits during the five long hours.
The section prizes went to Darren Bullock and Brian Tovey It was a strange day, when myself and Darren pegged out the stretch plenty of fish where topping and we both thought we are going to have a good day. I think Mark Jones summed it up by saying he had fished the venue before and had a great match, it seems when Exel fish any canal we struggle.
